This loop includes 4.1 miles of pavement, 7.8 miles of dirt and gravel roads, and 6.9 miles of single-track. The scenery is very fine, with lovely views of Middle and North Sister from the Metolius/Windigo Trail. You will enjoy a feeling of remoteness while riding this trail. Length, technical difficulties, and significant climbs add up to make this a demanding loop. Parts of the trail are steep, rocky, and sandy. Be advised that the Metolius/Windigo Trail is technically demanding and, at times, hard to follow. Carry the district map, a compass, and be prepared to spend some time getting unlost. Begins at Upper Three Creek Lake Sno-Park, about 11 miles south of Sisters.
