Kokanee on Parade: Metolius River Professional Review and Guide
"Thousands of bright red kokanee salmon migrate from Lake Billy Chinook up the Metolius River to spawn. They are easily seen at close range in the crystal-clear river water. From the parking area at Allingham Bridge, follow a small riverside path for about 30 feet to where a small spring-fed stream enters the main river. Kokanee congregate here before swimming up the creek to spawn. For a close look at the spawning fish, walk up the creek. It flows through an open meadow and is only around 150 feet long."
