This camp sits beside a narrow creek in a tranquil setting of big ponderosa pines, aspens, bunchgrass, and sagebrush. The ford at this location was mentioned in the journals of nineteenth-century explorer John C. Fremont. The camp is convenient for throughtravelers on US 20. You can watch birds right from your site, but there is traffic noise. With this campground as a base, you can hike to the top of Black Butte or fly-fish the Metolius Wild and Scenic River. The frontier village of Sisters holds a different appeal, with its galleries and boutiques.
