There's no reason to actively dislike this 1-mile there-and-back trail, but it's over so quickly that it's hard to call it a favorite. The walk from Highway 242, about five miles west of the Dee Wright Observatory, to Hand Lake is a 15-minute hike through a covered, woodsy area over a clean and well-maintained path. The destination, a massive field with beautiful mountain views and a nice look at Hand Lake, is certainly pleasant--but in reality this trail is only recommended if you have other recreational reasons for being at the lake; there are plenty of more substantial hiking trails in the area.
