At the convergence of Canyon Creek and the Metolius River, you will find this small, pleasant campground in a setting of ponderosa pines, bitterbrush, and bunchgrass. The West Metolius Trail departs from camp on a 9-mile journey down the river to Candle Creek. The hike serves up spectacular scenes of sun-gilded riffles, channels, and deep pools; grassy islands showy with wildflowers; families of geese and mergansers; and the dancing lines of the fly fishers. River color ranges from icy blue to satiny black.
