Siletz River: Buck Creek to Moonshine County Park Professional Review and Guide
"Of the 50 or more miles of boatable water on the Siletz River, this stretch has the most whitewater. Several possible put-ins vary the run’s distance from 3 to 12 miles. At flows above 8 feet on the gauge, the river is swift, and a 12-mile run from Elk Creek to Moonshine County Park is an easy day. Buck Creek is the normal put-in and provides about 2.5 miles of warm-up class 2 rapids before Silache (Sil-at-chee) Rapid, the most difficult stretch on this run. Character: second-growth; canyon."
