The South Fork Yamhill River is a great place for beginning paddlers or advanced beginners moving toward Class II rapids. Most of the river meanders though rural farmland with thick vegetation along its banks. In fall, beautiful deciduous trees drop colorful leaves into the reflective flatwater. Always allow plenty of time to make your way along longer stretches of the South Yamhill, since there are few access locations on the lower river and current can be extremely slow at normal flows.
