Willamette Mission State Park–Eola Hills Cruise Professional Review and Guide
"This challenging loop tour combines some of the best touring the Willamette Valley has to offer. You’ll ride along the scenic Willamette River in historic Willamette Mission State Park, take a fun ride on the Wheatland Ferry, tour the pastoral setting of Grand Island, then get a great workout when you pedal through the scenic Eola Hills outside of Salem, where you’ll have the opportunity to stop at the Stangeland Vineyards and Winery.
This ride begins in historic Willamette Mission State Park, which has expansive lawns and picnic areas, bike paths, walnut and albert orchards, and picturesque meadowlands. This state park is the location of the Willamette Station of the Methodist Mission, which was established by Reverend Jason Lee in 1834. After his arrival Lee and other missionaries built a one-room school, chapel, kitchen, and living quarters. In addition thirty acres of ground were prepared for planting."
