The waterfalls, most of which are accessed only by trail, are the centerpiece of Oregon’s largest state park. Silver Falls State Park covers more than 9,000 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Range southeast of Silverton, Oregon. The hike described here leads the hiker to views of nine of these spectacular waterfalls, as they plunge over stacked layers of ancient lava.
