Native wildflowers bloom in profusion on the expansive Rowena Plateau, overlooking the mighty Columbia River. Park at the small trailhead at the preserve entrance, where an interpretive sign will introduce you to the area. The 1-mile plateau trail begins here and leads across open, flower-filled grasslands with breathtaking views of the Columbia River, as well as into side canyons and around a prairie pond. There are rattlesnakes and poison oak on the preserve, so be aware.
