Susan Creek Recreation Site Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This attractive, popular campground, which overlooks the North Umpqua River, was designed to be accessible and convenient for individuals with disabilities. The sites rest in a soothing setting of mature trees along the Wild and Scenic River, which is open to fly fishing, rafting, and kayaking. A magnificent 79-mile trail follows the river from its headwaters high in the Cascades to the Swiftwater Trailhead, west of camp. At Susan Creek Recreation Site, short trails lead to the river and a watchable wildlife platform. Others link the camp to the day-use area, visit 50-foot Susan Creek Falls, and pass rock mounds presumed made by Native American youths during vision quests."
