Rome Launch Site Professional Review and Guide
"The sites edge an open, gravel plateau above the Owyhee River. A sagegrass hillside and rocky crest overlook the camp, and planted cottonwoods provide a bit of shade. The Owyhee—one of the originally designated Wild and Scenic Rivers—flows glassy and welcoming. A rafting permit system is in effect. A nearby attraction is the Pillars of Rome. These 100-foot-tall white rock towers suggested the ruins of Rome to early travelers."
