Roaring River is an interesting, short run for boaters looking for another run in the Clackamas River drainage. Despite its steep gradient, Roaring River is mostly characterized by uniform boulder gardens with the exception of the last mile. Several fun ledges and pushy boulder gardens provide a great end to the run. Be prepared for multiple portages around logs, stumps, and other wood hazards, although most of these are in easier rapids and you will have ample time to get out of the river. Character: isolated wooded canyon.
