Shining Lake Trail #510 Professional Reviews and Guides

"If your car can handle the rough road to the trailhead, the hike into Shining Lake is a relatively easy route that leads to that rarest of phenomena, a scenic mountain lake that is almost never crowded. As with most lakes in our mountains, you should expect plenty of mosquitoes in July. Due to the bugs, it is usually more enjoyable to make this hike either at huckleberry time in late August or fall-color time in October."
