Ramona Falls and Yocum Ridge

Ramona Falls and Yocum Ridge Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Yocum Ridge, an alpine wonderland that extends west from the slopes of Mt. Hood, enjoys an unequaled position in the long list of scenic treasures around Oregon’s highest peak. The views are absolutely incredible, not only of the towering mountain, but of huge glaciers, distant peaks, and even (with binoculars) the buildings of downtown Portland. Wildflowers grow in incredible abundance, adding color and an intoxicating aroma to the gentle breezes that waft over the ridge.

It is a land of excitement and great scenic beauty, but rather difficult to reach. The trail here gains over 4000 feet, so hikers must be prepared to sweat to enjoy the ridge’s many rewards. Those with less energy can settle for the much easier loop to extremely popular Ramona Falls, which offers few flowers and no mountain views, but boasts one of the most beautiful veil-like waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest."
