As one of only a handful of lakes in the heavily traveled Mount Hood Wilderness, it’s not surprising that Burnt Lake is popular. But even if there were hundreds of other lakes to choose from, this lovely mountain pool would probably attract crowds. Not only does this lake have a fine view of the wilderness’ glacier-clad namesake attraction, it is also a nice spot for a swim or to fish for brook trout. As with other popular destinations, it is better if you visit in the middle of the week and try to get an early start.
