Umpqua River: Sawyers Rapid Professional Review and Guide
"Because of predictable flows, this has long been a popular stretch when coastal streams are too low to run. After putting in, paddle immediately across the broad river to scout the class 3 chute from river left. Although revealed only during low flows, this narrow chute is turbulent and novices often walk or swim it. The other class 3 rapids follows shortly and is run down the middle. It does not flush at high water but does develop a couple of play spots below on far right and left. Take out at the boat ramp on river right. Character: broad, wooded valley."
