Skull Hollow Professional Review and Guide
"This amazing campground, seemingly in the middle of nowhere and modest in offering, blossoms into a tent city on weekends. The reason is Smith Rock State Park to the southwest, a world-renowned rock-climbing area on the Crooked River. The camp also lies within easy reach of the Gray Butte Trail for hiking and mountain biking, the Endurance Trail for horseback riding, and the wide-open spaces of the Crooked River National Grassland. The camp occupies a juniperdotted sage-grassland. In this fragile, dry landscape, pay heed to fire restrictions, and use common sense when parking."
