This is an easy loop that you can start from your campsite in Hamaker Campground. Half of the ride is on gravel roads in good condition; the other half is on a single-track trail in fair condition, with some tree roots, windfalls, and several soft sections of trail. The circuit passes through lovely meadows and a forest of lodgepole pine, western white pine, and old-growth Douglas Fir. The trailhead in Hamaker Campground is about 15 miles northwest of Crater Lake (as the crow flies).
