The trail is about 23 miles east of Prineville. Tread: singletrack for 12 miles and 6.5 miles on paved road. Hazards: the last .5 mile of trail west of the summit is on loose shale and jagged rock. Cliffs add to the risk of severe injury and convince most riders to walk portions of the trail. Control your speed during descents.
