Chimney Rock Recreation Site Professional Review and Guide
"A fishing dock is center stage at this campground on the Crooked Wild and Scenic River. RVers typically prefer the upstream end of the camp, which has a broad gravel lot for easy parking. The sites downstream tend to be fairly short, although a few near the turnaround loop are fine for RVs. Swallows nest in the cliffs across the river, and Chimney Rock looms above the camp. You may choose to lace on your hiking boots for a closer look at the camp’s namesake; the trailhead sits across the road from camp. The Rim Trail travels 1.4 miles and gains 500 feet in elevation to reach the saddle of Chimney Rock. From this lofty vantage you can admire the Central Cascades, as well as the Crooked River and its canyon. Fires and smoking are prohibited from June 1 to October 15."
