Strawberry Lakes Trail

Strawberry Lakes Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trail takes you on a tour of the scenic Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. Your tour begins at Strawberry Campground and takes you to a high glacial cirque that is home to Strawberry Lake. The trail then leads around the lake, taking you to the spectacular cascade of Strawberry Falls and ultimately to charming Little Strawberry Lake.

The vast Malheur National Forest,in the northeast corner of the state, encompasses nearly 1.5 million acres of the Blue Mountain Range, drawing together elevations from 4,000 to more than 9,000 feet. Ponderosa and lodgepole pines and many different species of fir dominate the region’s forests. The area supports five different ecozones and a diverse cast of animals—elk, mule deer, antelope, bighorn sheep beaver, and pine marten. Among its notable raptors are bald and golden eagles and sharp-shinned and red-tailed hawks."
