At Dixie Summit (elevation 5,000 feet), this terraced campground occupies a lodgepole pine–dominated forest, with larch and fir in the mix. Dwarf and true huckleberry grow beneath the trees. Sites are partially shaded, with gravel parking. Set back from US 26, the campground offers a quiet night’s sleep. Hunting and berry picking are among the activities. In winter a snow park attracts visitors to the area.
