Post Canyon / Mitchell Ridge Professional Review and Guide
"The ride begins by climbing on a gravel road through a portion of Post Canyon in the Hood River County Forest. This ascent emerges from the woods onto an open hilltop, where a trail is picked up. After many ups and downs, the last stretch of trail includes several precipitous descents on Mitchell Ridge. Peeks at the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams highlight the scenery on this wooded ride. While short, the ride is demanding both physically and technically. The circuit consists of a 3.5 mile loop and a 2.4 mile out-and-back. The trip involves 4 miles of dirt and gravel roads and 1.9 miles of single-track. Roads later in the ride include conditions that vary from coarse rocky surfaces to slick, deeply rutted situations. The trails are technically challenging with extreme conditions. Concentration is required for route finding; numerous side trails branch off from this route. The trailhead in Post Canyon is just west of Hood River."

amazing trail system, you could spend a full day out here.
Trails.com com map shows a limited overview of the system. Recommend picking up a map at the bike shop (Discovery) in Hood River that delineates routes and relative difficulty. The trail itself is in great shape!
