Tam-a-lau Trail

Tam-a-lau Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This loop trail takes you more than 600 feet to the top of a high peninsula above Lake Billy Chinook in Cove Palisades State Park. From there you have far-reaching views of the vast reservoir below and the snowcapped Central Cascade peaks, including Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, Broken Top, Mount Bachelor, and the Three Sisters.

This high desert hike gives you incredible views from the high rocky plateau called The Peninsula. The first 0.5 mile of the route is a combination of paved paths and steps that take you into the campground. From the campground the route climbs at
a steady pace for a little over a mile to the top of a long flat plateau."
