Powell Butte Nature Park Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This route takes you through open meadowlands and thick forest in Powell Butte Nature Park in Southeast Portland. City and mountain views. Powell Butte Nature Park is located on an extinct volcano that features diverse habitats and wildlife. This 570-acre park is riddled with a system of interconnecting trails that wind through open grassy meadows, old fruit orchards, and thick woodlands made up of western red cedar, Douglas fir, alder, and big-leaf maple trees. This fast-and-furious loop trail gives you a taste for the excellent trails this park has to offer. If you’re feeling spunky after completing the loop, go hog wild and do it again, or come up with your own route. Rest rooms and water are available at the trailhead."
