Horsetail Falls/Triple Falls Loop

Horsetail Falls/Triple Falls Loop Professional Review and Guide

"The Horsetail to Triple Falls semi-loop is yet another classic Columbia River Gorge day hike. One of the more popular stops on the Oregon side of the gorge, the Horsetail Falls parking lot fills quickly during the warm summer months. Though the hike is indeed very popular, most people are here to take a picture or two of the roadside falls and move on.

If you enjoy hiking in the Columbia River Gorge, this trip exemplifies every reason for that. There are numerous waterfalls to take in, including one you can walk behind. In winter licorice ferns sprout from the mosses that cling to bigleaf maple trees, and photographers are drawn to capture infinite patterns of frozen spray and glassy stones created in the splash pool of Horsetail Falls. And last but not least, there are trademark gorge views stretching across the river to Beacon Rock and beyond."
