This ride is through a portion of the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge. The ride is long and exposed and lies at a relatively high elevation. There is a lot of climbing, but it is all easy to moderately difficult. The first 15.5 miles are over two-wheel-drive gravel roads that are in mostly good condition. These roads contain some loose gravel and washboarding. The remaining 7 miles are on four-wheel-drive roads in fair condition, with some deep ruts and large rocks. The most degraded section of road occurs on the final descent. Look for pronghorn antelope, mule deer and coyote. This ride begins near Hot Springs Camp in the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge; approximately 70 miles northeast of Lakeview.
