This route takes you on a beach run through Cape Kiwanda Natural Area and Bob Straub State Park in Pacific City to the tip of Nestucca Spit. You also have the option of climbing the Cape Kiwanda sand dune. Views. This gorgeous beach run starts near the golden sandstone cliffs of Cape Kiwanda and Haystack Rock in Pacific City and heads south through Bob Straub State Park to the tip of Nestucca Spit. As you run south on the beach, you’ll enjoy watching surfers and boogie boarders catching waves offshore and dory boats heading out into the surf to catch fish off Haystack Rock. If you still have energy left to burn after your run, head north from the parking area and climb to the top of the Cape Kiwanda sand dune. The views from the top are gorgeous and running down the dune is a blast. Rest rooms and water are available at the parking area.
