While short, this ride gains a lot of elevation - it is a pretty hard ride. The ride passes through stands of tall firs. The Rigdon / Oakridge Ranger Station is a convenient starting point. The ride includes .8 mile of pavement, 1.2 miles of gravel road, and 4.8 miles of single-track Steep climbing and technical turns characterize the first part of the trail. The return descent is a hoot. Some of the curves and narrow sections come up pretty fast. The ride starts in Oakridge.
