Siuslaw River: Milepost 3 to Swisshome Professional Review and Guide
"The Siuslaw River makes a 20-mile loop away from Oregon 126 from Turner Creek to Mapleton. The upstream section of the loop constitutes this run. It is in a narrow valley flanked by a one-lane gravel road, a working railroad, and a few houses. Few of these intrusions of humanity are noticeable from the river, and the run has a pleasant, rural character. The paddling is easy, the current is strong, and small creeks and waterfalls are frequent. Character: forested; logging."
