This ride takes you on a tour of the beautiful rolling hills of rural Washington County. Century-old farms, nurseries, and wineries are some of the many sights along this hilly route. You’ll also have the chance to sample some of Oregon’s award-winning microbrews and burgers at the Rogue Brew Pub in North Plains and the Helvetia Tavern in Helvetia. Rural Washington County offers premier road riding, and this route takes you on a tour through some of its most beautiful scenery. Washington County rests on an ancient bed of basalt lava located on the western edge of the Columbia Plateau. Twenty million years ago this area was covered with lava that flowed down the Columbia River basin from eastern Oregon.
