Sunset Bay State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This campground sits across the road from Sunset Bay, a scenic, quiet ocean cove that reflects the setting sun. The landscaped sites are closely spaced. Surf fishing and swimming are popular, and a segment of the Oregon Coast Trail follows the shoreline through the park, visiting eroded cliffs, the sculptured gardens at Shore Acres, and an overlook of an offshore reef where sea lions—and in recent years elephant seals—haul out. Shore Acres State Park and Simpson Reef Viewpoint may also be accessed via the Cape Arago Highway. Other possibilities for outings are South Slough National Estuarine Reserve and the Mill Casino."
