South Beach State Park

South Beach State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This jumbo campground occupies a broad coastal plain behind the swale and low dunes of a prized beach. Shore pines isolate and lend shade to the campsites, which are nicely spaced for privacy and comfort. The paths to the beach range between 0.25 and 0.5 mile in length.

Hiking north along the beach, you reach a jetty where you can fish or watch the sea lions and harbor seals in the bay. The park also offers guided kayak tours in summer for a fee. The state park is within easy drive of the tourist shops and Old Town attractions of Newport, coastal offerings, Oregon Coast Aquarium, and Mark O. Hatfield Marine Science Center."
