Neskowin, OR Professional Review and Guide
"If it weren’t for the modern highway leading to Neskowin (nesscow-in), travelers might believe they had taken a trip in a time machine. In many ways, the tiny community exists in a time warp. It’s a pastoral place, reminiscent of simpler days when folks weren’t in such a rush. There’s not much to this little village: a state wayside, a grocery store, small galleries, a couple of restaurants, and adequate accommodations —even for conventions. A few creeks tumble down from nearby hills to keep things green in summer, wet in winter. Narrow streets, better suited to foot traffic and horses than to automobiles and recreational vehicles, wind through a tree-shaded residential area.
With two golf courses, Neskowin has more space given to fairways, roughs, and greens than to anything else. It’s possible to play the first nine holes in the rolling hills east of the highway, then the next nine in the flat but deceptively challenging creek bottoms west of the highway. Golf makes Neskowin a good place to visit, and it’s equally accommodating as a peaceful, quiet place to relax. This eTrail includes information on lodging, campgrounds, RV parks, restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and outdoor activities near this coastal city."
