The ride is a fun and challenging single-track that takes you to some spectacular sights, including a great view of Mount Hood. Far below you are Jean and Badger Lakes, and in the distance is Mount Jefferson. This demanding ride is well suited to strong intermediate cyclists and advanced riders. It is a combo of a 10.6 mile loop and an 8.4 mile out-and-back. The route follows gravel FS 3550 for 14 miles and Gunsight Trail for 5 miles. Most of the climbing is easy to moderately difficult. You will encounter a lot of rough surfaces, so wear your most heavily padded bike shorts. Negotiating the trail requires good bike-handling skills, and there are several places where you will have to push your bike. This ride begins at Bennet Pass on OR 35, approximately 32 miles south of Hood River.
