This ride begins with a technical ridgeline descent and ends with a tough pull. This ride is well suited to strong cyclists who enjoy challenges. The trip has a 9.8 mile loop and a 1 mile out-and-back. The ride includes tricky switchbacks around huge boulders, cruises across open hillsides dotted with ponderosa pine, traverses across scree slopes, and precipitous drops. You will walk your bike a lot to avoid skidding on the trail. Fifteen Creek Trail is a challenge as you regain the elevation you lost on Cedar Creek Trail. The trail becomes steep as it climbs out of the drainage. Carry food, plenty of water, and be prepared for emergencies. The trailhead in Fifteenmile Campground is about 40 miles south of Hood River.
