"This easy, scenic trail is understandably crowded on summer weekends, but in shoulder seasons it’s possible to hike the entire distance with minimal human contact. Your dog will love this trail for its many fragrances--large nurse logs provide a habitat for many small creatures, and the overall soft nature of the ground here holds records of many passing critters. In late summer, even bears utilize the pathway--evidence of their presence may appear as scat or soft logs ripped open to reveal ant-nest snacks. Be aware that the Salmon River is aptly named--runs of salmonids in spring and fall are significant. While it's fascinating to watch the spawning fish, keep in mind that even a tiny amount of raw salmon can be lethal for dogs, so keep your dog away from the fish." Read more

Outstanding and extremely beautiful ride along the Salmon River. The trail travels along the river with gentle roling hills, some short fast drops, and small obsticles (rocks and roots) along the well groomed single track. This is an excellent beginners ride with many fun stopping points along the course with spectacular views of Salmon Creek. I would recomend it for anyone traveling throught the great northwest. A spectacular view of God's country.

Not too strenous, 7-mile loop through varied terrain and vegetation. Be sure to take a left at the junction about a mile in to follow Ramona Creek for a beautiful approach to the falls. Lots of people.
