Horseshoe Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"Hike up Horseshoe Ridge to the flower-covered crest of Zigzag Mountain and the junction with the Zigzag Mountain Trail. This route offers spectacular views of the volcanic peaks of the northern Oregon and southern Washington Cascades, as well as exquisite wildflower displays.

Leaving the trailhead, the Horseshoe Ridge Trail first climbs to the east, through a dense stand of rhododendrons. After making a switchback the route reaches a signboard, with a trail map. Past the map the course continues to climb, making five more switchbacks before reaching FR 388, at 3,100 feet
elevation, 0.4 mile from the trailhead."
