"Climb through mostly second-growth forest from deep in the Salmon River Canyon to the ridgeline of Hunchback Mountain. Along the way a couple of small open slopes bloom profusely with wildflowers in June and offer views of the Salmon River Canyon far below. Close to the unmarked junction with the Hunchback Mountain Trail, glimpses of Mount Hood can be seen through the noble fir timber."
