Cougar Ridge

Cougar Ridge Professional Review and Guide

"This backpacking route leads along a ridge from the Minam River Trail, in the bottom of the Minam Riiver canyon to the meadow lands at Standley Guard Station. The lower 5 miles of this trail are mostly in the open, with good views of this rugged canyon country.

The entire route traverses excellent elk and bear country. The upper and lower portions of this trail may be hiked separately by using Middle Cougar Ridge Trailhead. The entire Cougar RidgeTrail as described here is best done as an extention of a backpack trip along the Lower Minam River Trail. (Trails 1649 and 1668)"
