The Cove Palisades State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Cove Palisades State Park is known as a boating paradise, but tucked among the hills overlooking the junctions of three of Central Oregon’s most prominent rivers—the Deschutes, the Metolius, and the Crooked—is also one of the region’s best High Desert loop trails: the Tam-a-láu Trail.
From atop the section of the park called e Th Peninsula, Tam-a-láu provides jaw-dropping views of the Crooked and Deschutes River arms of Lake Billy Chinook and transforms the boats on the waters and cars on the road to miniature Matchbox vehicles. Seemingly closer at hand are the stately Cascade peaks of Mount Jefferson, the Three Sisters, and the more faint Mount Hood."
