Rainie Falls

Rainie Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A beautiful and popular hike through the wild Rogue River canyon on the opposite side of the river from the Rogue River Trail. This hike affords the best view of Rainie Falls; in autumn, leaping salmon are a common sight. Parking is along the road shoulder just before the bridge over the Rogue. There’s close-in parking for 10 or 15 cars. On a summer weekend you may have to park a couple hundred feet away from the trailhead.

Rock surfaces on the trail and at the falls can be very slippery, so be very careful. Two people have died after falling into the river during the past ten years, making caution important."

This is an amazing trail during the turning of the fall colors. The trail itself is rough, rocky. It reminded me of a road from the Lord of the Rings. I was lucky enough to catch an image of a salmon jumping up the falls. I highly recommend this hike.
