Oasis Recreation Site

Maupin, Oregon

Oasis Recreation Site Professional Review and Guide

"One of the larger BLM camps along the Lower Deschutes River, Oasis occupies a long stretch of shore. Native grasses grow in the camp, while sagebrush grows at the periphery and willows and alders along the bank. Here the canyon lacks the wild and rocky disposition it reveals farther downstream, but the river still hosts boating and fishing and captivates onlookers. For whitewater excitement, schedule a float trip with one of the outfitters in Maupin. Fires and smoking are prohibited from June 1 to October 15."
