Nesmith Point Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"One of the most prominent features on the Oregon side of the gorge, hulking nesmith Point hovers almost directly over the Columbia River. A lung buster of a climb, the hike to nesmith provides great physical conditioning with a healthy helping of views along the way. Once the site of a long-gone fire lookout, only the privy remains—barely."

"A long day hike through pristine forests with incredible views of the Washington Cascades"

My rating depends, of course, on what you are looking for. If it is a tough, physical climb ypu are looking for, this is it (climb to Nesmith Point). I went on a rainy day, and quite windy at the top. But because it is on the east side of the hill, and in trees, you don't get the full brunt of the weather. The trail was good, even though it had rained for 3 days prior. I can't really comment on the views -- there are a few spots which obviously are for views, but given the blowing fog/clouds, I never saw the view. It took me about 2.6 hours to get to the top, and a little less (2 hours) to get down.
