Trout Creek Recreation Site Professional Review and Guide
"This recreation site occupies a pretty canyon along the Deschutes River. Sites claim a broad flat of native grasses, sagebrush, and rabbitbrush, with a light sprinkling of junipers. In this sun-drenched canyon, the juniper-shaded sites are quickly snapped up. Just downstream looms an impressive butte. An abandoned railroad grade, now a multiple-use trail, journeys upstream to Mecca Flat, offering views of, and occasional access to, the river. Fishing and boating are popular. Fires and smoking are prohibited from June 1 to October 15."
