Williamson Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Are you a lake person or a river person? Not that you have to choose, of course—but most campers seem to have a preference. If rivers are your thing, you could do worse than spending a night or two at tiny Williamson Campground, with five tent-only sites perched right along the bank of the lovely Lostine River.

The Wild and Scenic Lostine River, designated in 1988, originates at Minam Lake in the Eagle Cap Wilderness and carves its way lazily through a beautiful forested canyon, with plenty of campgrounds, fishing holes, and Instagram-worthy scenic photo spots along the way. As a bonus, it has the advantage of being pretty easy to get to, given the mostly paved (up to the wilderness boundary when it fades to gravel) and very scenic Lostine River Road that runs alongside the bank of the river."
