Chimney Lake

Chimney Lake Professional Review and Guide

"A side trail runs from Bowman Trail in Brownie Basin to Wood Lake. This trail also goes to Chimney and Hobo Lakes. Chimney Lake is a good place to camp and explore the more remote country around Wood and Hobo Lakes. (Trail 1659)

From the junction with Bowman Trail (1651; 7,240 ft.), Chimney Lake Trail turns off to the right (north). Chimney Lake Trail passes Laverty Lakes (7,450 ft.) 0.5 mile from the junction. Laverty Lakes are on the left (west) side of the trail. Chimney Lake (7,604 ft.) is another 0.75 mile past Laverty Lakes. There are good campsites to the right (north) of the trail, just before reaching Chimney Lake. There is an abundance of trout waiting to be caught in Chimney Lake."
