At the edge of a sage prairie and along the wet meadow threaded by tiny Mud Creek, this quiet camp sits in a forest of lodgepole pine and white fir. Mud Creek is a meandering black ribbon. Across FR 3615 from the campground is Bull Prairie, a private property where the springtime camas bloom creates seas of purple. Area trails can be reached 2.2 miles south of the campground, and Drake Peak Lookout might suggest a drive. Fishing and hunting are other pursuits. Come ready for mosquitoes in early summer.

Road fully paved and well kept. Sites are clean and surrounded by plenty of wood. Tons of mosquitoes so, come fully sprayed with repellent. Mud creek lives to its name, really stagnant water: hence the overwhelming amount of mosquitoes. Quiet as promised by the parks' website.
