Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge Professional Review and Guide
"Your arrival route is part of the Lakeview to Steens National Backcountry Byway. The refuge road system then continues your discovery, serving up wildlife sightings and stunning dry landscapes. Antelope are the primary attraction. The isolated camp consists of primitive sites radiating out from the refuge hot springs—a pleasant, deep steamy pool. A refurbished enclosure houses the spring; it can accommodate six users at a time. The camp claims an aspen-shaded grassy flat between Rock and Bond Creeks. Scenic hillsides of sage, juniper, and mountain mahogany frame the setting. Near the headquarters you will find a small museum and nature garden."
